On Sunday, May 11, 2025, at approximately 1316 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in front of 760 E. Tremont Avenue, within the confines of the 48th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 45-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive on the sidewalk with trauma to his head.
EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition.
On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 1200 hours, the victim was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the Office of Chief Medical Examiner has deemed this incident a homicide.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual, depicted in the attached surveillance photographs and video clip, who is wanted in connection to a criminal mischief / hate crime, which occurred within the confines of the 1st Precinct in Manhattan.
Details are as follows.
It was reported to police that on Thursday, February 02, 2023, at approximately 1615 hours, an unidentified individual approached a mobile Mitzvah Tank Synagogue, which was parked at 575 Broadway, and graffitied the word “PALESTINE” on the exterior of the synagogue vehicle.
The individual then fled into the subway system.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.
