Rosvin Mejia Castillo, 37, Arrested For The Murder Of Saida Bonilla Mejia, 40

On Saturday, February 10, 2024, at approximately 0513 hours, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress inside of 226 E. 203rd Street within the confines of the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.

Upon arrival, police observed a 40-year-old female victim, who was shot multiple times in the upper torso, a 16-year-old male, shot one time in the buttocks and a 9-year-old male, shot one time in the left arm.

EMS responded to the location and transported the 40-year-old female and 16-year-old male victims to St. Barnabas Hospital and the 9-year-old male victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi.

The 16-year-old male and 9-year-old male are both listed in stable condition.

The 40-year-old female victim was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 37-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 1215 hours, within the confines of the 52nd Precinct in the Bronx.

Charges:

  • murder;
  • assault (3 counts);
  • attempted assault;
  • attempt murder (2 counts);
  • criminal ppssession of a weapon (6 counts);
  • endangering the welfare of a child (2 counts).

The investigation remains ongoing.
