The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the unidentified male, seen in the attached surveillance photograph and video clip, who is sought in connection with an assault, which occurred within the confines of the 71st Precinct in Brooklyn.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 0120 hours, in the vicinity of Troy Avenue and Carroll Street, a 21-year-old male was walking dressed in traditional Hassidic Jewish garments, when an unidentified individual approaches him from across the street and punches him in the nose.

The victim was treated at the scene for his injury. 

The assault is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Unit.
