It was reported to the New York City Police Department (NYPD) that on Monday, August 5, 2024, at approximately 0106 hours, the victim, a 35-year-old female, was walking in the vicinity of Bergen Avenue and E. 149th Street, within the confines of the 41st Precinct in the Bronx, when she was approached by an unknown male individual asking her for directions.
The victim was forcibly raped and the individual fled the location, on foot, eastbound on E. 149th Street towards Brook Avenue.
The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln in stable condition.
The NYPD’s Bronx Special Victims Squad is investigating.
The individual is described as an adult male, Black, with a dark skin complexion, approximately 6’0″ tall.
He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a multicolored designed on the front, black pants, black shoes and was carrying a dark colored backpack.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 38-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on August 10, 2024, at 1125 hours, within the confines of the 41st Precinct in the Bronx.
