The New York City Police Department is asking for the public s assistance in identifying the individual, depicted in the attached surveillance photograph, who is wanted in connection to a forcible touching incident, that occurred within the confines of the 5th Precinct / Transit District 2 in Manhattan.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at approximately 0850 hours, at the Canal Street subway station, a 33-year-old female victim was walking up the stairs from the N, Q, J train platform to the mezzanine of the station, when an unknown male approached her and placed both his hands on her buttocks over her clothes without permission to do so.

The individual fled topside to parts unknown. No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

The individual is described as an adult male, Black.

He was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt, a blue gaiter and a dark colored hat.
