Dennis Cho, 20, Arrested For The Murder Of Hyun Sook Cho, 60

On Friday, February 24, 2023, at approximately 1400 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an aided female,inside 40-24 191st Street, within the confines of the 111th Precinct in Queens.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 60-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive, lying on the bedroom floor, with multiple stab wounds about the body.

EMS responded to the location and transported the female victim to New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Queens, where she succumbed to her injuries.

A 61-year-old male was also discovered at the location with a laceration to the hand and minor injuries to the head and neck; he refused medical treatment on scene.

A 20-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 20-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged in regard to the above-above-listed incident.

Charges:

  • assault;
  • murder;
  • criminal contempt;
  • criminal obstruction of breathing;
  • criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing.
