On Monday, May 12, 2025, at approximately 1705 hours, police officers responded to a 911 call of a female, shot in the vicinity of Home Street and Tinton Avenue, within the confines of the 42nd Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 16-year-old female, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS responded to the location and transported the aided female to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 14-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on May 13, 2025, at 1615 hours, within the confines of the 42nd Precinct.

- attempted murder in the 2nd degree;

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 13-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on May 19, 2025, at 0825, hours, within the confines of the 42nd Precinct.

- reckless endangerment in the 1st degree;
- criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds;

- criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, 2 counts;
- criminal possession of a firearm, rifle or shotgun in a sensitive location.
The investigation remains ongoing.
