On Saturday, July 09, 2022, at approximately 1258 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male in the water at FDR Drive and E. 41st Street, within the confines of the 17th Precinct in Manhattan.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 38-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, floating in the East River.

The individual was removed from the water, where EMS pronounced the male deceased on scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Earlier the same day, the New York City Police Department was seeking the public’s assistance in locating the same person, who was reported missing from within the confines of the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that William Wallace was last seen on Monday, July 04, 2022, at approximately 2000 hours, leaving his residence.

The missing was described as a 38-year-old male, Black, approximately 5’06” tall, weighing 140 lbs., with a thin build, bald head and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shrit with a black long sleeve underneath, black jeans and black sneakers.

There have been no arrests made and the investigation remains ongoing.
