On Saturday, August 2, 2025, at approximately 0147 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call for a male, shot in front of 2765 Sampson Avenue, within the confines of the 45th Precinct / Police Service Area 8 in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 23-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 43-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 1030 hours, within the confines of the 45 lth Precinct.

Charges:
- murder;
- manslaughter;
- criminal possession of a weapon, 2 counts.
The investigation remains ongoing.
