On Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at approximately 0630 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male, shot in front of 3470 Fort Independence Street, within the confines of the 50th Precinct in the Bronx.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 27-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the chest.
EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.
