A Teenager, 17, Arrested For The Murder Of Steven Estevez, 15

On Thursday, February 16, 2023, at approximately 2355 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male, shot inside of 71 Thompson Street, within the confines of the 120th Precinct in Staten Island.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to an apartment, inside of a residential building at 71 Thompson Street, where they observed a 14-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his head.

EMS responded to the location and transported the aided male to Richmond University Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following unnamed 17-year-old male individual has been arrested and charged on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 2130 hours, within the confines of the 120th Precinct.

  • assault;
  • criminal possession of a firearm;
  • criminal possession of a weapon;
  • criminal possession of a weapon: loaded firearm.

On Friday, February 17, 2023, the above-listed victim succumbed to his injuries on.

The incident has been deemed a homicide and additional charges have been filed.

Following proper family notification, the deceased has been identified as follows.
