On Sunday, August 23, 2026, at approximately 0542 hours, New York City Police Department (NYPD) police officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting in the vicinity of 1710 E. 233rd Street, within the confines of the 47t Precinct in the Bronx.
It was reported to police that an 18-year-old male victim was shot in the head, a 20-year-old female victim was shot in the foot, and a 22-year-old male victim was shot in the chest by an unidentified individual.
The individual fled the location in an unknown direction.
The 18-year-old male victim was transported to Bronx Care Health System by private means in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
EMS responded and transported the 20-year-old and the 22-year-old victims to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi in stable condition.
Furthermore, police were informed that a 25-year-old female victim was transported to Bronx Care Health System and a 37-year-old female were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi in stable condition.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the following 48-year-old male individual was arrested and charged on Tuesday, September 21, 2026, at 1000 hours, within the confines of the 47th Precinct.

- murder;
- manslaughter;
- criminal possession of a weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
