The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in ascertaining the whereabouts of the two unidentified males and their vehicle, depicted in the attached surveillance photographs and video clip, wanted in connection with an assault / hate crime, which occurred within the confines of the 63rd Precinct in Brooklyn.

Details are as follows.

It was reported to police that on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 2335 hours, in front of 3213 Avenue L, the victim, a 22-tyear-old male, was walking on the sidewalk, when Unidentified Male #1 exited the passenger side of an unidentified light-color mini-van, approached the victim and slapped him in his face, knocking the victim’s yarmulke off of his head.

The Unidentified Male #1 fled to the unidentified light-color mini-van, which was operated by Unidentified Male #2.

The unidentified males fled the scene in the mini-van.

The victim suffered pain, redness and swelling to his face, however, he refused medical attention.

The investigation by the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit is ongoing.
